Suffolk Man Caught Driving With 40-Plus License Suspensions, Police Say

A Long Island man has been charged after police say he was caught driving with more than 40 license suspensions.

Suffolk County Police observed the driver of a 2007 Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Straight Path at West Booker Avenue in Wyandanch on Friday, Nov. 22 around 11:30 a.m. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, police say.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver, identified as Christopher Ragin, 33, of Wyandanch, was found to be driving with a license that had been suspended 41 times, according to police.

Ragin was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a Class E felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana. He is being held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
